Position Description: Advertising Account Executive (Outside Sales)
Reports to: Director of Sales
Primary Purpose: To generate advertising revenue for product portfolio by selling and servicing new and existing accounts which can benefit from Brewer Media products and advertising options, and developing new clients via prospecting from other media.
*Create, sell, schedule and coordinate production of digital and broadcast advertising in accordance with established procedures and systems.
*Creatively direct accounts as to when, where and how to advertise, making copy and creative suggestion to develop effective advertising campaigns.
*Meet or exceed monthly goals established by the Director of Sales for revenue, prospecting activities, new business development, target account calls, special sales initiatives and other sales department functions.
*Employ creative ideas, prepare written advertising presentations and recommendations and utilize available market research from Nielsen, Scarborough, automotive sales data, etc. in a persuasive manner to upgrade revenue commitments from current clients, reactivate inactive accounts and acquire new clients.
*Know the status of every new and non-advertising account on the assigned account list, identify new prospects to call and maintain a constantly full sales pipeline of prospects.
*Provide prompt, courteous and effective service to all customers and prospects including accurate rate quotes, development of business building ideas, respond immediately to customer inquiries, resolve complaints, process credit requests promptly and maintain a high level of contact and professional communication with all accounts.
*Study and learn the market, the media options offered via Brewer Media, effectively demonstrate the benefits of terrestrial radio, print and digital advertising options, identify and exploit competitor weaknesses and maintain effective selling and presentation skills.
*Process all department reports and materials in a timely manner including advertising insertion orders, credits/adjustments, expense reports, c-n-a recaps, CRM updates, call report summaries, etc.
*Participate in weekly sales meeting, contribute to the professional growth of other department members via sharing of ideas and information.
*Monitor competitive media in market, examine competitive media for prospects to expand sales pipeline and account base.
*Adhere to company policies and procedures and present them to customers (when necessary) in a positive and favorable manner.
*Acquire a minimum of two new clients per month; net 24 new active client annually.
*Perform other assignments and tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Sales.
*Achieve multiple monthly goals for generation of revenue, cold call activities, spec spots and spec ads produced, c-n-a submissions, etc.
*Convincingly communicate the range of advertising options available via Brewer Media Group daily to active clients and potential prospects.
*Maintain and utilize a professional sales arsenal including Brewer products/presentations, current market research, spec use, etc.
*Meet daily deadlines for scheduling advertising and production process.
*Meet/Exceed weekly minimum levels of activities required to generate business by conducting a c-n-a, crafting a written advertising proposal/recommendation and producing a spec ad and presenting to the client, then closing the sale.
*Ability to function under pressure, handle daily deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
*Outside sales experience, preferably in media.
*Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and have an insured vehicle in good repair.
*Appropriate business attire, professional personal appearance.
Combination of Base salary and commission plan; the percent varies based on meeting assigned performance metrics; final compensation plan will be based on qualifications and level of sales and media experience.
